Truro Vacation - August 24th - 31st 2012

Friday, August 24th, 2012.  Five families have plans to travel to Truro, Cape Cod in Massachusetts.   Raj and Meena are excited about the coming week when they are hosting a number of their relatives to their new home on the cape.  This has been in the planning for many months.  After overcoming a number of hitches we were geared up to have a good time with our loved ones. The weather forecast indicated that all our stars were aligned.
Raj and Meena left their home around 2:30pm all ready to have a relaxing time – listening to music all the way, we had a smooth drive for the next 120 miles and reached Truro at 4:45 pm.  Couple of hours later Ranju and Andrew left Cambridge to travel to the same destination reaching at 7:00pm.  While Ranju and Andrew were navigating the traffic Priya and Nick decided to take a relaxing ferry ride from Boston to Provincetown.  They had the benefit of watching a diving competition at the Boston Harbor as well as a spectacular sunset enroute to Truro.  As the ferry reached Provincetown, Krishnan and Akola’s flight touched down at Logan. They came from Indiana, which is about 1200 miles away.  After renting a car at Logan they arrived at Truro around 10:30pm. While K and A were renting their car the Prakash family was leaving Sharon to come to Truro and join the fun.  They arrived around 9:00 pm.

While all this travel of about 2000miles was taking place, the families that arrived before 7:30pm which were Ranju, Andrew, Prakash family, Priya and Nick and were starving decided to sit down for dinner?  We had a simple dinner of lasagna, salad and bread. Simple but delicious and satisfying while the wine drinkers enjoyed a cup of wine while chit chatting.

Once again the air got exciting as the last of the guests (K and A) arrivied.  Lots of chattering and excitement as tall stories were exchanged until finally every one decided to retire for the night.

Priya and Nick pulled the short straw – having to retire on couches to catch up on their sleep!  They did not seem to mind this one bit.
